Courses

London has a full range of vocational courses – including for project management; and including BTECs (Business and Technical Education Council), OCR Nationals (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Nationals), NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications), Modern Apprenticeships with work base training and education, undergraduate degree course and post graduate studies and research – for careers in practice and academia.

Overall London has the largest tertiary student population of any city in the world totalling over 370,000 at 39 HE providers including many from overseas (29%); and with 67% at undergrad and 33% at post grad.

PM Courses

In a recent review of project management courses at Higher Education Establishments within London there were an impressive ten undergraduate courses and thirty post graduate courses (MSc) with options of full time and part time – some with internships.  A number of MBA courses (Masters of Business Administration) can also include substantive project management.

These HEI courses may be located in business schools, schools of management, construction departments, engineering faculties and more.

There are also ranges of short courses of days’ durations at universities and other establishments with certificates or diplomas of attendance or examinations including with APM / IPMA, PRINCE 2 (Foundation and Practitioner) and PMI accreditations.

The increasingly popular Higher Apprenticeships in project management also involve attendance at selected academic institutions.
